ART 1 - Sketchbook Assignments For 2013 - 2014

Sketchbook Assignment List

Here are your sketchbook assignments for the WHOLE year!!

Sketchbook Assignment List

Listed below are the sketchbook assignments for the year. Sketchbook assignments are due BEFORE THE TARDY BELL each Wednesday... Extra 10 points for turning your drawing in on Monday, 5 points for turning it in on Tuesday!! The sketchbook drawings are not optional, they are extremely important, so expect some studio time with me if you don’t get it in on time! Zeroes just don’t work for us because drawing is the foundation of all art processes!

If absent, be prepared to show the assignment the day you return.
Please make sure your sketchbook is graded when you get it back!!
Your sketchbook counts as 20% of your 6 weeks grade, so it is VERY important!

Sketchbook Assignment Guidelines:
*Spend 30 - 45 minutes per week. NO POPPERS!!! (Piece of poorly produced effortless rubbish!!) If you throw it together, I can tell, so take the extra day and do it right! Try to stay a drawing ahead, so if something comes up, you’ll still have a drawing ready for class.
*Include background, don't float object; always shade, show values changes  - FILL THE PAGE!! This means the LINES must actually go OFF the page on ALL FOUR SIDES!!!
*Draw freehand, avoid rulers and NO tracing
*Sketch must be in your sketchbook, not on loose paper! Keep your sketchbook with you! If you use it up, I’ll make you another one. If you loose it, it’ll cost you $1.00 for a new one!
*You may redo the drawing, for a higher grade, until the next drawing is due – gives you a whole week. Just make SURE we take a ‘before’ picture of you and your drawing so I can see how much more amazing it becomes!!
*Grade yourself on the colorful grade sheet, it is  –20 points if you forget.
